Introduction
The Handong International Alumni Association* (HIAA) began with the purpose of creating a strong community of international alumni who have graduated from Handong Global University. It is our hope that this association would serve as a reminder of the values and community all alumni once experienced as undergraduate students. Additionally, the association would help the relationships we have built in Handong stay strong as we are scattered across the earth.
*The HIAA is separate from the Handong Global University Alumni Association(한동대학교총동문회), as our association focuses solely on the alumni who hold foreign passports.
On the other hand, there was also a growing need for connection between the undergraduate students and the alumni who have gone before them. The HIAA allows for a means for the undergraduate students to be introduced to and exposed to opportunities that might otherwise be lacking on campus. Internships abroad, aid in job-seeking, and mentorship are just some of the things that the HIAA would make possible. Ultimately, this association will be a platform for both the undergraduate students and the international alumni to build connections that will go beyond the Handong campus.
Who We Are
Hello! We are the Handong International Alumni Office (also known as the HIAO), an office established under the Office of International Affairs (OIA). We handle all administrative affairs for the alumni. We maintain and update the alumni database, respond to inquiries from alumni, and organize inhouse and external events. We make sure that our alumni are well-taken care of, even after they graduate and leave.
Vision & Goals:
Vision: To create a connected and dynamic community that consists of international alumni of Handong Global University who keep the Handong Spirit in both their hearts and life, remember the Handong values, and stay connected with the Handong community, even from a distance.
Short-term:
- Connect alumni by regions and field of work.
- Provide internship/career opportunities to the enrolled students.
- Send regular updates on the current Handong campus life.
Long-term:
- Keep the Handong Culture beyond the time in Handong.
- Inspire hearts for missions in the alumni.

Founding Members
The role of the Founding Member will mainly be to support the HIAO by connecting us with other alumni. This may entail but is not limited to the following:
- Actively promote the association to other Handong international alumni.
- Actively promote and participate in events related to the HIAA.
